We are bringing Matthew 10 to a close with verses 40-42! As Pastor Neal wraps up the chapter, he identifies this as the "Mission Discourse" or the "Little Commission." The apostles didn't start with the Great Commission, which was a call to widespread gospel proclamation to all nations and all people, everywhere. They started with the Little Commission, a call to start local and start simple. To tell what you know to who you know where you are. If that's how Jesus told the apostles to start, then so should we. In our context, we have local routines, local lives, and familiar people and places — everything we need to accomplish the Little Commission. If everyone does this, we will actually accomplish the Great Commission.
